What if there was a Channel Selection Menu on top of the shoutbox?

1 channel created automatically for each alliance, with permissions for only alliance members to view.
and 1 channel that's public for people to spew and flame all day.

This was the best suggestion in the thread. Luke laid out the difficulty, but one tab one the box for home sweet home gal, one for alliance if any (and possibly overtaking the gal chat), one for the universe(s), each with an X you can click to shut it down... pure bliss and not too obtrusive. And responding in advance to Elohim that the generic chat has proved useful to newbies, in my personal experience.

So, any alternatives to Cbox?

I've added an option to disable the chatbox on the options page. I like the idea of chat channels per alliance/galaxy, sweet suggestion, not sure how easy it is to add though.

I'd also LOVE the ability to be able to click a players name from the chat pane to go to their profile.

Ummm the chat option box doesn't work. The chat is gone on the perma. It works on the round.
