2 New Missions

I've coded in two new missions designed for new players to get a handle on some of the basic aspects of the game while making a little income. Since the missions are so simple the rewards are pretty small (all level 1 cash bonus which is 100-500 m/e). I'm glad though because the missions page has been embarrassingly bare for a while now.

I know I should've waited til next round to implement it but it's not going to give anyone a huge advantage so I hope it's no biggie.

I actually learned a thing or 2 from them so good job. I like things like that that keep you busy and you get a small reward.

That 600 - 3000 m/e will come in REAL handy during the first ticks of next round!  That is NOT sarcasm!  (neither was the 5 Discharger comment).

hopefully we can get some new missions too, i like ones like this that actually teach you stuff about the game and help you out


maybe something about the galaxy voting?

idk, but its looming behind my galaxy on the universal view. it seems like it will be cool when it actually gets put into play. i like the idea of the universe not being completely discovered/traveled.

but for other minor missions, maybe just things like scanning, using the battle calc, changing m/e ratios etc.
and not to be pushy, but maybe one for clicking the senate link would be good too.

speaking of learning about galaxy commanders, Wasn't something supposed to be changed about them. Like they were supoed to have lots more power?

Love the new addition :) but if you want to still implement something next round what about expanding current missions?

Battle Experience
level 4 Successfully defend another player from an incoming attack.
level 5 Successfully attack with two other players.

Varied Fleet
level 4 Obtain 1500 of 6 different types of units.
level 5 Obtain 2500 of every type of ship.

Technical Improvements
level 4 Attain 2 level 5 technologies
level 5 Complete the technology tree by having every technology at level 4 and have 4 level 5 technologies

Resource Management
level 4 Obtain 200 Asteroids and Meteors
level 5 Obtain 270 Asteroids and Meteors

Communication 101
level 4 Sign up on the Colony-wars forums and post 10 times.
level 5 Start 5 topics and post 50 times

Establish yourself
level 4 Vote on the Politics page
level 5 Start or join an alliance

I like it, but i think the communications need to be tweaked, because then we'll be getting spam.

I added #'s so you can easily zip to what I'm talking about:
1  That's exactly how I've gotten my level 2 bonus in the rounds I've played in.
2  Gotta love piggy backing on "sure-thing" attacks!

about 3 and 4, yes an no, thats pretty much all the varied fleet is, but # 3 makes it so you have to have lurkers, currently you don't ever need to get war 4 if you arent getting war 5 because the way the mission is set up, you just have to get 1k units of the ones available to you.

and perhaps #2 you also must obtain rocks and just just win the attack?

I would like to see some techs where it would take most of the round to complete because If you think about it. Everyone eventually gets their techs done . If we expand techs then people would be more unique making the game more tactical. What do you guys think?
