i think you should bring bombs back. i liked attacking people to wipe them out, not steal their population

Bombs were a way of the bottom players getting their own back on the guys at the top without having to risk units.

The old system of having to search for bombs once they had been planted was a good way of doing it but there would probably be other ways.

I always thought bombs were annoying, I wonder why that is...

Anyways, let's get some discussion going: bombs vs no bombs.

-If you want bombs, tell us why you want them and what they should be like, and try to go into specifics as much as possible.

-If you're against, also give us your reasons.

Cause there was no better message than "Your bomb has detonated on planet armageddon killing xxxx number of people" :)

Maybe instead of POP. bombs could be brought back to destroy units.The way the game is played now,no one really defends, they hide their fleets and let people attack then just send their fleet out to get pop back.So bombs that destroy pop wouldn't mean as much as bombs destroying units, forcing more defensive play.Or people would just let the units through and spend their resources trying to find and diffuse the bombs, but at least more choices to make other that who to attack to get pop back.

Wasn't there two types of bombs?
A nuclear
and an electromagnetic that never workedm you could then decided wether to destroy pop or units.

I assume that we will get at least one round in of what Colony-wars was right before it died, before we put in all the extra stuff that once was in the game. Having never played with bombs, I am against it. Just because I dont know how the gameplay would change. I like how the game works now, I would hate for something to be added and all of a sudden the game doesnt seem as fun to play.

Well, we already have a working attack system and scavenging plus the unit stats are getting tweaked, so it's not going to be exactly the same. But yeah, any major changes would probably take place between next round and the one after that.

i hated bombs, everything about them. always random bombs messing things up lol, they just make the game that bit more complex when its unnecasery, makes it bcome a little too tactical if you know what i mean, takes the fun out of the basic tactics.

A major problem with bombs as they were was that they were too easy for the person using them compared to the person being bombed. You only needed 50 hawks and a bomb to do a bombing mission, then the target would have to get online to scan for the bomb in time or else kaboom.

Never played with these so called bombs but they sound fucking sweet. Vote yes but you should make them expensive and they should have a life span and you cant have more than one cause then the rich will buy thousands and there should be a possibility that they blow in your face.. hahaha.. jk

i vote yes, because people were complaining about fights being just punisher vs. punisher, so if there's bombs it would add another level of play.

if it was brought back to destroy units in groups people could just send their fleet out and then cancel the attack so they aren't at home when the bomb goes off

well you had plenty of time to search for bombs because it took them like 8 hours to blow up.


 and wasn't there a kind of bomb that destroyed their metal/energy?

I dont really like teh idea of bombs returning.


They were to expensive to prevent...scanning never really worked, and it was expensive as hell, it was to eaasy for lower level players to bomb you constantly.


If they do return, it should be easier to prevent detonation.

i would have to go with yes cause they were a little fun and made the game more tactical but instead of scanning for bombs how about a bombsquad that can defuse a bomb you can raise it from the tech page to combat diffrent bombs but not all and there would still be a small chance that it will still detonated
